All staffs are required to attend at least one interview with an Angel Advantage Center administrative staff during the application process. At Angel, we believe that interviews are a crucial component of our hiring process, serving multiple essential purposes aligned with our commitment to building a dynamic and high-performing team. Assessing Cultural Fit: Interviews provide us with the opportunity to understand more than just a candidate's qualifications. We use this time to assess cultural fit and ensure that individuals joining our team share our values, ethos, and collaborative spirit.
Evaluating Communication Skills: Effective communication is at the heart of our success. Through interviews, we evaluate a candidate's ability to articulate ideas, actively listen, and engage in meaningful dialogue. Strong communication skills are vital for fostering collaboration and maintaining transparent internal communication.
Gauging Problem-Solving Abilities: We use interviews to present candidates with real-world scenarios and assess their problem-solving abilities. This helps us understand how individuals approach challenges, think critically, and apply their skills in practical situations.
Ensuring Technical Proficiency: For roles requiring specific technical skills, interviews allow us to evaluate a candidate's proficiency in their field. Practical discussions and assessments help us identify individuals who not only possess the necessary qualifications but can also apply them effectively.
Answering Applicant's Question: Our interviews are an opportunity for candidates to experience our company culture firsthand. We encourage them to ask questions and interact with us.
Interviews will all be conducted virtually via Zoom or Google Meets. You will receive the Zoom or Google Meets link from us at least 12 hours before the scheduled time.
Virtual Interview Expectations
Camera: Please ensure that you have a working camera during the interview.
Audio: Please ensure that you have a working speaker and mic.
Dress Attire: There is no strict dress code but please dress appropriately without showing excessive skin
Unexpected Event: In the event that something came up, please communicate with us. We will try our best to accommodate.
Most interview will proceed in the following order:
Getting to Know You: Introduction of both the interviewer(s) and interviewee.
Practical Interview
Teacher: Provide a 5-10 minute mini lesson on an previously agreed upon topic. Please email a copy of the lesson plan to us prior to the start of the interview. Lesson plan can include the topic, content, questions, class discussion, etc.
TA/Volunteers: You will be asked to demo questions in reading, grammar, and math from grades 2 to 12 randomly as if you were explaining it to a student. It is all about the though process and how you articualte yourself clearly. Your questions will not exceed your current grade level.
Behavioral Interview: The behavioral interview will consist of situations that may occur. Your job is to provide a plan of action. What will you do immediately? What would do to follow up?
Question and Answer: This is where we will ask any miscellaneous questions and a chance for you to ask any questions which you may have for us.
After the interview, your documents, resume, application, and interview notes will be compiled. Our admin team will review all applicants holistically to make our decisions. Due to limited positions, we simply cannot guarantee a spot for everyone. We appreciate the time and effort each candidate has invested in the application process. You will be informed of the decision by a date previously shared during the interview.
